Guitar Valuation Services was founded in 2017 in order to provide a bespoke advisory, valuation and authentication service for buyers, sellers, insurers and the legal profession.
The business was borne out of Dr. David MacGregor’s long -standing interest in buying, selling and valuing rare and high value vintage and modern guitars. Dr. MacGregor, has had a long standing interest in the values and prices of rare and high value guitars and ephemera.
Having founded Modern Guitars in 2005 David has built up a network of contacts in the vintage and high value guitar market in the U.K., Europe, The United States, Canada, Japan and Australia.
He has authenticated and valued musical instruments owned and previously played by by David Bowie, The Moody Blues, John Renbourn, Lonnie Donegan, Mike Rutherford of Genesis, Greg Lake and Gary Moore amongst others. He has also acted as advisor for AstonLark Insurance, Crawford and Company Insurance, Chiswick Auctions, Catawiki Benaulim B.V. Netherlands Two:Four Productions,ITV and Nimble Dragon Video/Channel 5.
